I wonder how it happened but! pop to toyota and explain to them im sure it cant be really expensive as the seat doesnt need replacing maybe just one rail will. I couldnt understand what acutally snapped did something snap in between of the rail or did a component on the seat rail snap where it goes back and forth.

You could look for a breaking corolla to try and get that similar part aswell there were a few on eBay search corolla spares, or corolla breaking and ask them for the part and grab a picture to show them what you need.

Mine broke a while ago,the same as yours...there are two little pins which broke of which when you pull the front handle up to release the seat they slot into two sockets with springs which pull up and move the seat,I took my seat out and took the handle of and took the handle into work and got two new pins made by a mechanical engineer using a lathe. He cut the rest of the pins off the handle with a grinder and I welded the the new pins on and painted them.It was a nightmare getting the handle out of the seat as the seat does not come apart,I used a car jack to push the seat apart and take the handle out and once fixed it was very hard to pute it back in and brute force is needed but I got it done..

Yep same happened to me, trying to adjust seat whilst the wife was setting of, seat shot back and i think it put to mutch strain on the pins.

Looked under seat and found the broken pin in the rear foot well, got it done under warranty, i think they changed the whole seat mechanism, probs not cheap.

If you're still under warranty then, like Blutto above, you should get new ones fitted.

However, another thread in here somewhere about a faulty seat brought up some relevant points. Spares for the seats/mechanisms aren't usually available from Toyota as they get the seat units supplied, fully assembled, from a third party. So if it's not a warranty claim then you'll potentially face a big bill.

Breakers Yards or a DIY repair ( like Woodyatlarge mentioned ) may be your main options.

Pretty sure you don't want to Shell out for a new seat - what with a sprog on the way etc !

Good luck
