Looking At A T-sport Celica

After going to view what was advertised as a "mint" condition celica which turned out to have a bust radiator, low coolent, no oil, the bumper didnt line up with the lights and wing and the seats were ripped etc,

anyway i have found a 2002 t-sport but have a few questions regarding it,

first of all it has small 5 spoke alloys on it i thought the t-sport should have 17" alloys on it,

also i was reading some got badged as t-sport even though they were not how do i know if it is a real t-sport,

its a 2002 with 56000 miles for 5850 which seems to be a fair price but its a couple of hundred miles away so i just thought i would ask if it was normal to have the smaller alloys before i go to see it,

thanks

All UK T Sports have 8 spoke 17's, this could be a Euro Import. Does it have the two-tone Grey Leather and a factory fitted Alarm?

I guess the owner could have put aftermarket wheels on, but why they'd go back to smaller wheels I don't know. I assume by small 5-spoke you mean the ones that are on the stock Celica 140?

If it has got a T-sport Badge on it then it's quite possible the owner just bought a T-sport Badge off eBay or something and put it on the car.

Or alternatively, if it doesn't have the Badge, perhaps he's gotten confused and called it a T-sport when it's just a Celica 190?

yeah they are toyota alloys, it has the t-sport Badge on the back, well its just my luck anyway i phoned him seemed really genuine etc so done an insurance quote and the reg didnt come up in their system so thought "ah maybe he has just changed a private plate off it and its still registering the old one" then done a hpi check and its been a cat d and he has only owned it 2 months since it was a cat d, so he lied saing it had never been in a smash,

3 cars that ive been interested in have now revealed hiden secrets when hpi checking them :(
