Hi all,

I took my 1999 1.3 Corolla in for an MOT the other day and since then the headlight-on warning buzzer has stopped working, this has already caused one flat Battery incident.

Does anyone know if this is easy to fix or do I need to take it back to garage.

any feedback much appreciated,

Jon

Hi Jon

Did you ever get a reply / solution to this problem.  I have exactly the same issue with my 1999 corolla.  Any ideas?

8 years, thats a long time to wait for a reply !

There are a lot of possible causes to that failure.

You do not mention lots of other functions not working so likely the fuses are ok.

What about the internal lights, do they come on and off correctly when you get into the car ? ( not exactly sure how your 1999 model operates)

My suspicion would be the driver side door courtesy switch either faulty or a broken wire.

You really need a test meter  or bulb/battery to test it properly or possibly swap it around with the other doors switch.

The switches are usually rubber covered and located on the pillar by the door handle striker plate.
