Hi All,

Good News the CTS is back fighting fit :yahoo:

Last Wednesday - The Mrs reports the usual 3 warning lights - When she comes back its as expected, the little black wire from the harness leading into the MAF plug has snapped. No way to repair, its :censor:

Thursday - Speak to Mr T in Worksop and ask them for advice, they say only way to fix it is to get a new wiring harness :( Then after speaking to members on here, decide to get a used Plug & Wires from a dead car, Ring around all the Scrappies on the Web, one agrees to let me cut the bit off the loom of a dead Diesel E12 Great  Will do on Saturday

Saturday - Go to Scrappy, bloke has changed his mind now wants to sell me the whole Wiring Harness £75, Told him to :censor: right off - What to do now though that was my only lead to get a new Plug Doh! Stress all day and do the same on Sunday :ffs:

Monday - Remembering back to my Honda days :g: , decide to call Mr T UK for some advice, they cant help but say to call technical 0906 661 0061 (£1.50 per Min!!!) don't have much hope about this but call anyway, spoke to a great bloke who said the Worksop dealer is talking rubbish & Mr T can supply wiring repair parts, all they do is have a look in the Wiring Repair Manual and thats it  . Call Pentagon Toyota in Sheffield they listen my story and say fine will have a look and call you back, which they did £26 for the bits, they will arrive on Wednesday. Still :g: at this point!

Today - The Mrs picks the bits up a T-90980-11317 & T82998-12440, then heads to an Auto Electrician i know, 20 minutes later jobs done (£17 so called mate  ) no more pressure on the wires, ECU reset Sorted.

Thanks to Stoneyfordni, Parts-King, T-Sport & Hogie for their input

Great stuff mate, I'm pleased you're all sorted!!

Sounded like it was going to turn into a bit of a nightmare, but isn't it nice when a story has a happy ending! :D

As previously said on this thread, enjoy the lift!

hi. i had the exact same problem with mine it snapped a cable on the air mass sensor. i temp fixed it my self with a bit of amp cable to get it up and runnin. but cost me 60 quid in the end coz i had the mechanic i use extend all the cables for me and heat shrink them and put new covers over it so it couldnt be seen. now tho iv got another problem with the k & n. took it off today to clean it and realised that the bottom support bracket has snapped so theres a hole in the bottom of the tube when it comes away. spoke to one of my mates who's a welder and he's goin ry n weld it back together for me. there is defo some design faults with the typhoon but the sound you get makes up for it.

I've had both of these problems. Mine's got a temp fix on it for now, but my mates dad is a professional welder, so gonna gethim to have a go.

I'm not going to use the bracket any more, just cover the hole, as the filter is stable enough without it. I know a few people that don't use the bracket.
