Should I Repair/replace Original 185 Intercooler, Or Go For Front Moun

Today I was changing the spark plugs on my 185, and also looking around the intake manifold for a potential vacuum leak causing a lumpy idle and boost leak. I picked up the intercooler just do do a quick check over it, and then i discovered that between the first two fins and on the inlet side was a nice big crack going about half the way around the end tank and about 2mm across at its widest.

So now that leaves me with two options: repair or replace with another intercooler of the same type, or go for a front mount intercooler.

How much work needs to be done to the front of a 185 in order to fit a front mount? Or perhaps install a 205 charge cooler and find a CS bonnet for the 185?

FMIC all the time. if you want to go the charge cooler route the CS one is a bolt on fit (you will need the throttle body rubber. the 205 CC needs the pipe moving to align with the turbo outlet and a throttle body adaptor making up.

for FMIC try here and get the GTIR pulsar kit, you will need some bits of samco and the turbo clocking but it fits quote well.
