Radiator Twin Electric Fans

It is me again.

Still not got answer to previous post, however there is another problemet (small problem). I have never noticed the two small electric radiator fans working. Even when the temp gauge was in the red. If these fans failed to operate would that have caused the BHG? I have tested the motors on each fan and they are working. How do I test the relays or the wiring or the location of the fuse? I know all this type of stuff is a pain, but there hardly seems any coverage in the manual. Can I run the car without these fans? They must be there for a reason. I have mocked up a switch via a relay in my Mondeo as that has the single electric fan only and was probably the cause of the BHG on that (I have now covered 2000 miles on the new HG so I guess I got the job done correctly and have improved my own confidence in engineering which is odd because I have a doctorate in the subject)

Any help welcomed.

Regards

Dr Michael

look at the stat housing, think there a sensor with single blue wire going to it, earth this with engine running and it should operate the fans! but as karma said it would have no input to your blown h/gasket!!
