I wish I was given a car after I passed my test. Unfortunately I wasn’t, I had to go out and work and save up instead, and something I’m still doing to this day.

Be grateful you have family that think of you to the extent of giving you a car. A bit of TLC always makes a car of any age look better

if the exhaust is not stainless steel then you can get a product from any good motor factors store that is like a paint

you leave it on for i think half an hour and the come back and the rust should be gone, if its surface rust that is

Then just go over it with a good helping of autosol.

If it is stainless, go over it with a light grade sandpaper say 1200 or 1500 to remove the surface rust, and then again go over it with autosol.

And for the engine bay, i would use a general degreaser to remove any oily parts, then if you have plasticy bits use autoglym plastic restore, or intensive tar remover (its not just for tar  )

Thats all i do to clean my engine bay out :)

Sorry no help from me unfortunately, but can anyone who isn't a donator actually see file attachments in this place? It seems silly to allow anyone to upload to the site, but then prevent everyone from seeing the attachments :(

if you want to make it look a little different then you can get the GXi front bumper same as i have on my rolla, will give it a sportier look and as it was a common fitment from the factory it wont harm your insurance
