Quick Question

Looking on autotrader, some of the corolla T Sports have 5 speed gear boxes, and some say they have six (same shape ones year etc), is thios just a fault of the sellers, ocus i thought all of them have 6 gears?

I believe, some do have 5 speed boxes, but they then decided to add in a 6th gear for an additional 300rev over-drive, Wooo! :P

It's not so much an Extra, but an addition after a certain time.

I couldn't really tell you as I've never driven a 5 speed. I shouldn't imagine they're that different as the difference between 5th and 6th is only 300 or so rpm! I'm sure there's atleast 1 5 speed owner on here that'd shed some light for you.

Thanks, i'm getting into a posiotn tht i can part exchange my old polo gti, (need a new key th works first) my budget will be around 6k,is it worth waitng asnd spending a bit more on a facelift?Saw a couple for 6500,prices should come down since noones buying cars at them mo.

I prefer facelift models but each to their own obviously. There's a black 05 facelift on eBay atm for £6200. Pipercross Induction kit, Painted calipers.

I'm pretty sure all T Sports are 6 speed.

Could do with being 7 speed though!

This is a Cat D write off though

I prefer the pre, unfortunately though you have to spend £500 ish to sort the 4x4 suspension out & fit the strutbraces :( .

They probably are all 6 speeds, the guy trying to sell me the car when I first got it did seem a bit of a muppet, I never checked it out myself.

Yea think they are all 6 speed, but some of the celicas from japan have a 5 speed auto fitted to the 2zzge. That engine with an auto, painful to think about!!!!!

The Pre-facelift T-Sport is more discreet but as already posted you'll have to sort out the handling by lowering the car and fitting strut braces. I haven't gone this route so far as I'm pretty much happy with the standard settings. Corolla T-Sports should all have 6-speed gearboxes I believe.

ja its geared like a Teg Type R in 6th but not 1-2nd rgrgrg:/

my 5 speed primera used to sit at lower revs at 80+ and still give better MPG (45-46~) vs the T Sport 30's...
