Just traded in my trusty old Verso T180 for a nice shiny black Auris T180. The Verso has served me well but fancied something a little more nimble ( and a tiny bit more economical hopefully). Hopefully I've made the right choice, I do like the torquey engine in the T180s and I'm sure it will appear more willing in the Auris. ( might not get a washing machine in the back though  )

I'm thinking tinted rear windows would set the car off quite nicely. Has anyone had tinting done if so what were the results and costs.?

Enjoy your new ride brother! ;)

About the window tints, I have 15% Llumar tints all over on my Auris; every window, except the windshield. Here are some pictures of it...

I don't live in UK so I can not quote a price for you but it costs, where I live, approximately 150GBP.

Tints like that on the front side windows would soon earn you a fine and/or points on your license in the U.K.

Are they legal in Turkey?

No, they are not. ;)

If you're pulled over for the 1st time, you get a warning and fined. No points yet.

If you're pulled over 2nd time, you get points on your license, fined(greater than the 1st) and your vehicle gets impounded instantly, right there. That's not all of it, then you have to pay the tow truck costs, car park costs and you have to get into the inspection with your tints removed in one week(I don't know what is it called in UK, the inspection that I'm talking about is they take your car and approve it for the road, it's done all the cars on a regular yearly basis) and that is also, costs money.

I wasn't suggesting the full window covering by the way, I'm trying to show how it looks with this particular grade of tints. :)

my t180 tints

t1801ye0.th.jpg

does finish it off nicely imho

also i get around 43-45mpg average at the moment if driven normally. If its foot down kind of driving, more like 41mpg and 52mpg is possible on dual carriageways or decent A roads on a long run.

Auris T180 is defiantly more savage than the heavier t180 cars.

Just had some quotes for window tinting the rears ranging from £160 upto £250, The guys quoting £250 want the car for 6 hrs for the work, the cheaper quote guys for 90 minutes. I guess you get what you pay for.

Seriously I just don't get you Auris guys. If you wanted really good looks then surely a VW would have been the car for you? I do not think the Auris looks good tinted, its ok the way it is.

I wanted something smaller than my Current Toyota Verso T180, The main criteria was for a diesel over 2000cc as my company pay me more (significantly) per mile for diesels over 2000cc. The VW diesels ,other than the fact that I'm not keen on them, are only 1998 cc.

Best let Toyota know your views then, because they are selling some versions of the Auris model with tints on as standard. (And VW do so as well including the Golf). Golfs (Auris nearest competitor) are ten-a-penny around my way and the GT diesel version similar to the x180 definately doesn't look any better, not too mention lower torque/power, much noisier rougher engine, and soot spouting out the back, and at least you can see the 2.2 d-cat from behind when it leaves you for dust! The only thing the Golf has going for it is the sportier seats.

Some one obviousely liked the London Olympics logo and paid thousands but it doesn't make it design classic.

The Auris a prestigious looking car for the wise, not chaved up nova.

Oh well maybe I am alone in this opinion

You're currently using -35 H&R's on that right? With the coil-overs, you will definitely be a ground scrapper! :o

Also what happened to the 18"s? I thought you ordered a new set and replacing those 17"s, any pictures?

Without decent wheels and dropping the car on it's butt, tints look a little weird, I admit that but when you do those, it looks pretty damn good in my opinion. ;) B)

Sorry for off-topic

18" will be produced by the end of August - everything is ok with them, just waiting for the order to be completed )

Current springs - ESPILIR Super Active Low Down (-35-40mm) - actually car downed with 40mm lowering.. the lowerest among Auris and Corolla'07 in Russia :) haha

About tinting. I've reassumed my opinion if the Auris White - Shoold be lowered and get 5 rays designd White rims - shoould be much more sprotish without tinting the windows )
