Toyota Auris T Spirit

Hi Guys,

Take no notice of my username as we were looking at the Verso but decided the Auris is big enough for us, gonna test drive a Auris but doesn't have MMT and spoke to the dealer that says he's had no customers with issues, will test drive it and am sure we'll order one for Sept/Oct delivery as would like 58 plate going with Protection Pack and this will seem strange Sunroof as my mum doesn't like aircon and liked the keyless entry and push/start button idea, looked at the A Class Merc have dismissed that and also the Kia Ceed as dads a Toyota man, issues or comments please leave them as it's always helpful even links are good :D

I had the T-Spirit before i changed to the T180. it was a nice car, very well equipped but wasn't quite fast enough to keep me happy

I had the T-Spirit before i changed to the T180. it was a nice car, very well equipped but wasn't quite fast enough to keep me happy

It's goona take time to get used to as my dads current car is a 2ltr Carina E Estate and the Auris is a 1.6 but I'm sure that'll be fine as it's a 5 door, looked at spec of SR180 but doesn't have MMT which is a must unfortunately, the dealer not having a like for like spec is a pain for the test drive but nevermind they do have a Yaris with MMT for us to try.

When you looked at the T-Spirit did it have a cream interior. The only T-Spirit in my local Toyota dealership had a cream interior, I liked the spec on the T-Spirit but the colour of the interior was a big problem for my girlfriend and I. When I asked the salesman he assured me that it was the only colour option available for the T-Spirit - even though (as we pointed out to him) the brochure says you can get it in black???

In the end I opted for the 1.6SR and lost out on the keyless entry and push button start. We couldn't justify spending the extra £3k for the SR180 just to have the extra features :( Ideally I would have liked to have had the bothe the best bits from the 1.6SR and T-Spirit, don't understand why Toyotoa won't list them as options?

See what you mean thats crazy that you cannot choose the interior except sahara stone it looks awful.

it depends on the colour of the car. i had a T-Spirit in black and the only interior colour available if you had a black car was sahara stone. If you had the car in another colour then it was available in a black interior. When i asked the slaesman why this was he couldnt answer me, but assured me that the sahara stone interior looked more expensive and resembled a lexus!!! i would have prefered a black interior if im honest. i have since changed the car to a T180 and couldnt be happier.

went today for test drive, they drafted in an Auris 1.6 MMT in Decuma Grey with Black Cloth interior and was very nice to drive, was going to order a T Spirit with Sunroof Protection Pack in Decuma Grey and chose black interior but that was 15-16 weeks which would have meant reduction in our trade in cars, was told that the sunroof would have been done on a different production line so chaged to a Auris T Spirit 1.6MMT in silver steel and black interior and Protection Pack for under 17k and they would'nt budge delivery 3 weeks but are holding onto car for September delivery.

I have just ordered my new toyota Auris t-spirit today, will be ready in september :D . I wanted black paint, a sunroof and black cloth interior. SIMPLE but yet I was told I cannot get a sunroof on the t spirit nor can I get black cloth interior with black paint . Apparently toyota dont factory make sunroofs on t spirit only the 180 diesel.

So I dropped that idea and found a wee man at a toyota dealer who said he could get me black seats and black paint. but I have never seen any like this and cant find any pics of black t spirits on the net with black cloth interior. I am a little confused :( , can anyone shed some light on the subject for me? I would like to hear from anyone who has black with black to put my mind at rest.

I only want a t-spirit because of all the standard features and gizmos it has. keyless start, auto lights and wipers, dual zone climate control, etc ect. ;)

When I got my 08 T-Spirit in March, I was totally set on Decuma Grey, but as we filled the order in at the salesmans desk, his manager told us that the cream interior that it came with wouldnt be a good choice, having 2 kids messing up the interior. Too right I said. Can we have the black interior? No. The cream interior comes with the black and grey cars, and the black interior comes with the silver and blue cars. Because of this I had to go for the silver, as the blue was the same as the last car I had. Shame you cant get all colours in all interiors because I think the Auris looks great in grey/black! Hope that clears everything up!

By the way, the T-Spirit is totally loaded with all sorts of gadgets to keep you busy....Enjoy it!(Whatever colour you get!)
