How long/deep is the scrape? Have you asked how much to repair it at somewhere like Chipsaway or the local bodyshop?

I assume you mean a tape to match the colour of the paintwork, if so it would probably look a bit crappy. There are other ways to repair a small scratch that look fairly good when finished.

Dunno 'bout tape, but Toyota supplied a tin of touch up paint to owners of new cars. Perhaps they can order/sell you one.

You should be able to get some mixed at any good motor factors that have the paint mixing facility. They should check the paint code on your Yaris, beside the ID plate ( normally under the bonnet , of on the door sill), so that they are able to mix the exact colour. When you get this put it on using a small water colour paint brush ( like the one that kids get in a colouring set), allow the piant to dry for a day. It will scab & appear very rough, but the next day use T Cut to rub it off again. The excess paint will rub off , but the scratch will dissapear , just as if you had got a professional to paint it. I have done this myself numerous times. It does work and only costs the price of the paint. Let me know how you get on.

The scratch isn't too bad. It's about 8" long and 5mm wide, I can see the white underneath so I pressume that my car is made of plastic not metal so at least it won't rust. As you can probably see I don't know much about cars except how to drive one.

I live in North Wales and I'll have check on the internet to see if there is a Chipsaway near me. After reading your post I think that I'll give the tape a miss. It's OK for stone chips but as you say it's not very good for scratches.

Many thanks for your kind help and advice.
