T180 Lowered Springs ?

I pick up my new T180 on Saturday.

The previous owner obviously spent a fair bit of cash on the car what with SatNav spoilers and side skirts etc. I'm wondering now if they went a stage further and had the lowered springs fitted.

The question is, How will I know for insurance purposes etc. Does the lowered springs make the car look obviously lower or Is it possible to measure the gaps between the top of the tyres and the wheel arch ? and if so what is the standard measurement.

any suggestions or observations welcome

Are you sure that it has a previous owner? As i said in another post my T180 is identical to yours and mine was the dealers ex demonstrator. Apparently when the T180 was launched the demo cars supplied to the dealers were fully kitted up with sat nav all the skirts etc.

Cant see somone buying a T180 with all those extras fully loaded like it is, youd have to be looking at almost £21k if not more to spec it up like that, not worth that sort of money in my opinion

If it has lowering springs fitted it will have Toyota Motorsport written on each of the springs, so stick your head under the rear bumper nearside to see...

Well, I've picked up my new little black beauty today and I've stuck my my fat head under the nearside rear bumper and the springs do indeed have Toyota Motorsport written on them. However, does this mean that they are lowered springs or do all "standard T180 springs" have Toyota Motorsport written on them?

Anyone with a standard T180 fancy getting down on their knees and taking a look under the rear bumper to take a look, alternatively measuring the distance between the top of the tyre and the wheel arch on a flat road for me  ]

Anyway must go now I've a new toy to go play with :D :D

I think the T180 springs are Toyota parts and so should not have Motorsport on them, but I'll tell you later for sure as I have my originals in the garage.

As thought, no Toyota Motorsport markings on original T180 springs.

Thanks for taking the time to check that out for me, it's very much appreciated. It seems like the car I've bought has crashed through a Toyota accessory warehouse and emerged with every possible part attached.

I'm well chuffed :D
