Just bought a 54 T spirit recently with a pop up sat nav. I have 3 questions in regards to the sat nav:

1) If I would like the sat nav to play dvd's, do I take it to the dealers??? will they charge a lot to convert it????

2) Don't currently have a cd multichanger, to have one installed do I go to dealers, what would cost be??

3) To update maps, is it dealers again and what would the estimate cost be???

Thanks for all your help

p.s. New to toyota club, would like to thank everyone for all the information that is available. B) :D

Hi,

I dont know the answers to 1 and 2 of your question

I do know that there have been some recent threads about the cost of update discs etc and related link to Mr T. Your dealer should be able to advise whether there has been a recent upgrade disc for your car (the high cost of these means its worth waiting for the most current disc)

sat nav system cannot be converted to PLAY dvds, it is not a dvd player

muli changers come in various guises and the cost will vary from dealer to dealer because their hourly rates vary so much, dealers in the south charge more than northern dealers, because its a higher cost of living in the south, best advise is to shop around, and include independents, as fitting a multichanger is not a difficult job .Hope this helps you.

Thanks to everybody for their advice.

I got in touch with Toyota about updating map and they quoted me at about £170, which I thought was extremely high. Does anybody know if you can download the dvd navigation map europe on the internet at a cheaper price???

I have been also advised to go to a see somebody at a local nearby who will be able to convert the sat nav so it can play dvd's and also will be able to add a cd multi-changer. Is this a good idea as I don't want to mess with the original factory setting???
