Changing Brake Fluid

Is it a DIY job to change the brake fluid on a car with ABS? I think I read somewhere that to do this on a car with ABS was a garage job.

I am sure that the principles are the same regardless of ABS/non-ABS.

I've recently replaced the disks pads and flushed the fluid through.

The fluid change was very easy;

Remove bleed nipple dust cap,

Put a clear pipe on the bleed nipple, other end into a suitable container for waste fluid,

Get an assistant (the wife) to keep pumping the brake pedal,

Slowly loosen the nipple off until you see fluid in the pipe.

Then keep topping up the reservoir until you see cleen looking fluid in the pipe.

The most important thing is to ensure you close the valve with out letting air back into the system. If you close the valve when the pressure is on this should not be a problem.

Just repeat the steps for the other bleed nipples.
