I have a damp smell inside my 97 Carina e. This is similar to a smell I had in a Mondeo which turned out to be the pollen / cabin filter. I cannot find a cabin / pollen filter mentioned in the Haynes manual for the Carina.

Does anyone know if this sounds like a pollen filter problem and / or where it is?

Thanks

Only fitted if the car has air-con.

the filters are in the central console - access cover is in the drivers footwell around the left leg foot rest.

They will cost £30+. (it's a two part filter) - copies are available however the ones one I've seen are designed for a LHD car. (not good)
