Emergency Brake Light Won't Go Off!

I have a corolla wagon 1993. The emergency brake light came on while driving and won't go off. At the same time I lost the cruise control function. The cruise control light will come on but won't ingage. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Try topping up your Brake Fluid and check your front brake pads

Thanks for your reply. The brake fluid is topped up and the front pads are in good shape. Any other ideas???

Get the alternator checked.
