Hi There.

Long story so I'll edit it short......

I'm fitting a rear sub amp, an old one I have.

Due to lack of cinch ouputs on standard head unit,

I can tap into the rear speaker wires for positives to take to the amp. Hi level inputs.

A compromise, I know......

All is being soldered, with heat shrink in the correct colours etc.

Rather than remove the rear panels to get to the wires near the Speakers,

I intend tapping into the wires somewhere neater and less hassle.

I BELIEVE the rear speaker wires run down the sills.

I BELIEVE the standard colours are:-

Left, Red + and Black -

Right, White + and Black -

I intend to tap into the white and red wires.

What I need to know is:-------

Do the wires run down both sills, one to each rear speaker or,

Both sets down one sill then a cross over wire to the other side of the car?

I'd rather only dismantle what is needed as panel clips tend to be

made of "snap" or "brittle" and new ones seem to be made of "expensive" or "back-order"

Cheers for any help.

Ian.

AFAIK from the AIM for the Soundpack the wiring runs through the sills on both sides.

Confirmed they do run down by the door sills. However I thought that the left went down the left and the right is on the right.

BTW Ian seeing your trike it has inspired my friend and I to start a kitcar :) Just bought the Haynes book "Building a Sportscar on a Budget".

Don't they? I thought they did too...

When I look through the AIM for the rear Speakers, most steps have indications

for "L+R", meaning the steps would be the same on both sides.

The only real difference I can see is the routing from the kickpanels to the center console,

which is different on the drivers side because of the steering being in the way...

Build one NOW before any use of imagination or

daring to do anything even a little different are banned.

I'm sure the V8 trike would be frowned upon these days.

(or I'd be locked up in some kind of institution).

Thanks both of you for the info.

It looks like I'll have to do both sides.

While I'm at it, I'll see if the local scrappy which had an AYGO in it

a few months ago still has a door interior light switch.

I'll do that while stuff is in bits.

Cheers.

Ian.
