Theres a variety of things happening over the weekend including......

Friday Night ......Oasis tribute band called ' Definately Might Be ' , a 5 piece professional outfit will play 2 x 45minute sets in the Canteen hall on Friday night starting at 8pm- apparently they are very good thats if you like oasis of course more info & listen to tracks here

The Raffle

All money raised from the raffle will be donated to the R.N.L.I ( Royal National Lifeboat Institution ) with a cheque presented to the local Lifeboat Station by JAE organisers after the event. The RNLI is a charity which relies 100% on donations and is responsible for saving life at sea. For more information about the RNLI : www.rnli.org

The presentatation of all money raised to the local Lifeboat Station is JAE's effort to support the local community local to JAE with something that makes a difference to thier local lives.

Tickets will be available throughout the weekend of JAE and can be purchased form the main admin tent or from our staff. The tickets can be purchased at £5 each which is reflected in the prizes on offer within the raffle.

There's a 'Its a knockout' competition

The events for the clubs its a knockout at JAE this year are:

Tug Of War Battle - 7 persons per team max

Five-a-side football tournament - 5 persons per team max

Endurance competition - 2 persons per team

Personal obstical course - 2 persons per team

Sumo Wrestling Bouts - 1 person per team

Japanese Food and Drink competition - 2 persons per team

All activities will take place from Saturday morning throughout the day so if you need to be available to enter the competitions throughout the whole day (obviously depending on which one you are doing, times will be announced asap) with the trophy presentation that evening on stage in the main hall.

So please get your names down if you fancy having a go and I'll get us registered

Also there's the separate Tug-of-War (won by TOC in 2006 IIRC) which if we want to enter needs 8 big strong boys (or girls) :D

There are Banana boat rides from the beach (bring old shoes/trainers to ride as bare feet not permitted on it) and apparently its suggested you hold your nose if/when you fall off :!Removed!:

And of course theres the Show & Shine Comp - registration is open 1st thing Friday morning

And for 2008, JAE Show & Shine has a brand new sponsor.

As always the categories will be as follows :

Best Modified / Best Concours / Best 4x4 / Best Classic

Best Nissan (Datsun) / Best Honda / Best Toyota / Best Mazda / Best Subaru

Best Lexus / Best Mitsubishi / Best Suzuki / Best Isuzu

Judging will begin on Friday afternoon and will go through until 6pm on Saturday night.

The trophy presentation will take place for all winners of Show and Shine in the main hall at 8.30pm on Saturday night and will be presented by Alex from Serious Performance and Joe Clifford from Banzai Magazine.

Each prize kit contains:-

SP Lambswool Washmitt

Note : To enter the furthest travelled competitions, please register at the JAE Admin tent prior to 6pm on Saturday night, we need some proof of your mileage / entry !!

Just had confirmation of a slight change in the s&s entry.......before forms had to go to Admin Friday 9.30am - now its been made easier:

The forms are to be kept with the cars and handed in when you go into the arena. The top half is retained by the driver and Admin keep the bottom so there is now no need to pre-register, just turn up in plenty of time

So if your coming Friday morning there's no probs as it doesn't start until the afternoon

Bit less pressure now, have just got the times ......Lexus/Toyota show & shine is at 3pm on Saturday so plenty of time for getting your baby ready :D

Bit of a daft question but how are you going to rinse your car after you've washed it? I'm going to be bringing my car cleaning stuff down as well - i assume that'll be a lot of spattered flies on my car by the time i get there!

Is there on site water facilities there so i can just bring a bucket or would i be better buying a cheapo crate of bottled water with me?
