A Question About O2 Sensor

Hi

I bought a yaris Toyota Yaris GS vvt-i for my wife 10 months ago, its a V reg (99), the car has been excellent apart from one issue with the engine management light that is on, I had the car serviced in april and they mentioned nothing about the light so I assumed that they have checked it and it was all ok!, a month ago when my wife was out shopping the car suddenly stopped and she had to call the AA, it turned out that it was the Battery but the AA engineer said that there was nothing wrong with the Battery, and it seems something else effected the voltage, could that be the O2 sensor?

Is it true that there are two o2 sensors in the car? how do I know which one needs replacing? and is it possible to use a universal sensor instead of the toyota one?

thanks
