Knock Sound After Starting

Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone can shed some light on this.

I've got an 08 plate Verso, and have noticed that after starting the engine and moving off, a few seconds after starting to move, there's a faint single knock coming from somewhere, but not entirely sure where. It's happened every single time I start the car since I got it brand new in March, and am assuming it's nothing to worry about since I've had no problems with the car, just really curious as to what it is!!

If you think that your car is making a noise it shouldn't be just ask any Toyota dealer to start up a similar spec car for you so you can compare how they sound.

That's the TRC/VSC, perfectly normal.

Never happened on the Versos we had without VSC/TRC, only on the recent ones.

If you put your foot on the brake, the clunking doesn't happen!

Thanks for the info guys, I'm a lot less worried now!!

Mcmc - I tried your tip, and it does work... Mind you, now I know it's normal, I don't mind it - I'd miss it if it didn't do it now :)
