Hi peeps

Just looking around on the net and came across this.

http://www.greencarsite.co.uk/GREENNEWS/new-toyota-iq.htm

Toyota will be selling the IQ which to me looks like a smart car? They are hailing it to be the perfect town car. Should be on sell next year march.

So get saving guys and girls those of you who are in the market for a small round about ;)

It’s very nice, but I need more space to carry stuff around, that’s the purpose of a car at the end of the day.

I'd drive it if I HAD to, but I think my legs would be around my ears.

I'd certainly choose it over a Smart Car though

What we want to know is what engines are they going to use and how does it drive?

I was told at the motorshow that it will have the 1.0 3 pot engine (same as Aygo and my Yaris Paul)

I asked if their were plans for a hybrid and was told that might follow but not for a few years.

I like it :) I'd seriously consider buying one but its going to have to be very special to warrant me moving away from my aygo :)

Apart from the newness of it, is there any point to this car above an Aygo?

From what I understand it's smaller, dearer with less room inside. The Aygo has proved itself to be a very popular, inexpensive, practical and fun car. is the IQ going to be something different rather than something useful?

The Iq is for people who are too posh for an Aygo :D

I think it is meant to be a bit more up-market.

That's exactly what I was thinking :o

Well, comparing the IQ to the Aygo I was actually thinking of ' for people with more money than sense ! '

It may be 'posher' but the Aygo isn't exactly slumming it in the small car world is it?

I like the look aimed at younger townies. Toyota will not sell many because the Aygo will handle better as well as being more practice and cost efficient.

Some may well buy it because it is pure Toyota, whilst the Aygo is a Toyota/Peugeot/Citroen collaboration.

It certainly is aimed at the "Luxury" end of the small car range with loads of "bells and whistles"

It's definitely the jap version of the smart car. And most people who drive a smart car think they are posh as they drive something different ;)
