Wing Mirrors

HI, i JUST BOUGHT A W REG TOYOTA AVENSIS ESTATE AND AM HAVING A BIT OF TROUBLE WITH THE DRIVERS WING MIRROR, THEY ARE ELECTRIC BUT IT DOES NOT MOVEW WHEN I SELECT THE CONTROLS FOR IT

IS THIS QUITE COSTLY TO REPAIR, DO I NEED TO GO TO THE MAIN DEALER OR CAN ANY GARAGE SORT IT?

Might not be much help, but I had a similar problem with my 89 Corolla Executive. I actually cured that one by giving several sprays of WD40 in behind the mirror glass. It worked.

I have the problem now on my current one (same model but younger) Spray didn't cure it. I put the working mirror off my old model on- no joy. Fuses are ok. Tried changing the adjuster switches round, but one was different to the other. It probably is a faulty switch, but I have ended up just adjusting the mirror manually.

Try the WD 40 . A spray per day for a few days to soak everything. Won't hurt & might work. Good luck

would you be able to fit a carina e xi wingmirrors to a toyota avensis gs estate, i have these from my old car, these are manual whilst the avensis are electric but i don't mind this especially as new they are expensive

would these fit?
