Hey all

Just a lil introduction cos it takes me ages to type!!!

Just got a GT-4 Jap import,I am madly impressed and wanna learn loads.

Its standard...and definitely needs a tweak in the boost dept....

The 17"OZ wheels that are on it,were....primer grey???????? so have just sprayed them black...(Halfords)

yes the paint will chip and fall off....but hey.....they were annoying me.

It now looks like the ba$tard love child of Darth Vader and Kit (Knight Rider)

who i think you will agree was suspectly camp :lol:

cars I've had from last to first...:

BMW 528i ..........(Boring)

Calibra Turbo .............my baby....(300bhp) ...........still got (",)

Astra MK 2 GTE ..........wonderful car....(got nicked)

Cavalier MK2 Calibre 130...(first taste of power....ish)

Escort MK 2 (first car....yes i'm old  )

Excellent stuff... You will love modding the GT4 as it seems you like your fast motors...

Ive a friend who loves... no adores Calibras at my workplace but says they are money pits and he bets that your turbo will cost a fortune to maintain!

With regards to the GT4... get on the Celica/GT4 section and get reading/posting questions etc and we can help you out bud.

Welcome to the club.. :)

WTTC.

as said there is plenty of info on here with regards the GT4 and modding.

i would say though that if you want to up the boost, get an electronic boost controller not a bleed/relief valve and set it to no more than 1.1 bar.

it will then be safe and as quick (if not quicker) than the calibra.

if you want it checking over (4's can be expensive if problems are left unchecked) get it to TR&D in nottingham TR&D website

they are the leading specialists in GT4's

yup... 1.1 bar is where its at for a standard car... but the reason it makes such a difference is because in standard form the boost is limited to about 7.5psi in 1st gear and then raises to full boost of 13psi when you change up.

When you upp the boost it bypasses this restricting process giving you 1.1bar of boost from the launch which makes a great difference... trust me. ;)

Thanks alot for your replies B)

I will look into the bypass...that sounds like a good idea..altho if it only makes a difference in 1st gear i dont think I'll bother..

I thought 1.1 bar was about 15/16 psi...but i was never very clever anyway

I was wondering what the standard boost was....13 psi eh....hmm

I dont think i'm getting that....it seems too smooth...fast but smooth....infact,if i never watched the speedo move

faster than sound and light,I'd swear this thing was slow!!!!!

Compared to the handling of the Calibra with....koni adjustables and Eibach springs.

The Celica is in a different class.......no actually a different school in another district lol

I'm lovin it lovin it lovin it...

Yes Calibras are money pits

I've had mine 8 years and have receipts for 40k and thats not including buying it on finance which brings it up to 60k lmao

yes I am stupid....but you should know if you love your cars.....

I have just replied to that thread in the GT4 section where you had added a post.

With regards to making a difference in only 1st gear... its also the 2nd gear as well were the stock setup restricts boost. honestly it feels a lot better with the restriction off. :)

Standard boost is 13psi once in 3rd gear but as i have said in the other post, if your using the stock gauge then its useles.. you need to add an after market one to find out waht your actually running.

@ Calibra... My god man you are insane and it seems all you Calibra nutters are alike! £40k... FFS man... Its all good.. :)
