Touch Up Paint & Sat Nav

Good Evening Everyone.

Have just this weekend purchased my new Toyota Avensis , well i say new it is 2002 1.8 GS VVTI, have taken it for a few drives and must say i am really really impressed with it so far.

Have a few questions if i could throw them to the members for there expert opinions/replies

1 - Have a few scratches on the car , which i am sure is understandable for a car that is 6 years old so have been looking for some touch up paint , the colour is Dark Green Paint Code 6S3 - have been looking on the internet but have not been able to track down any touch up sticks to match this colour so far just wondered if anyone new of supplier that did this color ?.

2 - Concerning the SAt Nav system TNS 200 i have the old 2001 disc and just wondered whether it is worth updating and whether there is an alernative supplier of the disks other than toyota ? . I do prefer the built in sat nav but am drawn between the cost of the new discs or whether to buy a portable sat nav system. Hence i just wondered if the new discs offer good value for money over the old 2001 discs.

3 - Does anyone know the date of the latest sat nav disc for the TNS 200.

Many thanks for your help

Hi and welcome to TOC

Regarding the touch up paint, Toyota should be able to supply them - or try Halfords, if it's not a colour they stock then they can mix it up for you .

Try Wilsons on the High Rd, Cricklewood, London. They are a bodyshop specialist number is in Yellow Pages. They mix cans at half the price of Halfords & no i don't work for them, but used them for years when i lived in London. As to sat/nav i have new 2007 disc running in 03 Toyota with no problems, vastly superior to 03 disc. Yes you can buy much better systems from your local car shop, but all depends if you like a cluttered dash or not. Try following link for updated disc = www.toyota-mapupdates.eu. Good luck.

Many thanks for the replies.

Beagh1958 - You say you have the latest 2007 disc , have you got the part number , because just looking at the site to order an update and it gives me the following description PZ485-T20EN-06 TNS UPDATE CD (EN) ....

I was wondering whether this is just purely a part number or whether the 06 referred to 2006 ?.

Any help appreciated

Thanks

I have part number PZ485-TTBEU-07 but don't go and order that. As to order correct disc you have to remove your old disc & use first part of number on disc along with your system to obtain correct disc number. And they are not cheap around €160 whatever that is in Sterling? As to the 06 it may well relate to year as I was told 07 was year for mine. Wait and see what other forum users say, a forum user by the name of Parts - King may be able to confirm number if he reads your posting.
