Dodgy Squeek - Could Be Clutch?

Turn the engine over and it seems ok

Little squeek though as in (squeek-squeek-squeek-squeek-squeek) coming from somewhere

Put the clutch in and it goes - even in neutral

Any ideas?

1.3 51 reg, 58,000 miles

It's the clutch release bearing. As the whole clutch needs to come out to get to it, toyota recommend replacing the whole clutch. mines been like that for about 2 years. either replace it, or just stick with it till it gets unbearable.

Took it in, they say there's no problem even though there is. Ill just let it get worse then get it fixed. They also mentioned extended warranty though :\

Mine has been doing this for a couple of months.

I read in a previous post that you should just bear with it until your clutch is ready to be replaced.

Mine has been running fine so I wouldnt worry about it too much :)

Extended warranty is confirmed - didn't have to pay anything (for the warranty, they want £300 for a new clutch though!)

Toyota now agree with me - after an MOT that the release baring does indeed need lubricating.

Currently looking into getting a Helix clutch

Time for an update.

My mate that works for VW (transferring to Audi) has offered to fit me a new clutch for £50

Helix clutches don't exist ATM for the 1.3 engine - only the TS

Alls I have to do is pop down to Toyota and buy one :D

Got the clutch now, to be fitted in ~2 weeks

£173.94 off Toyota, then £30 rebate when I take my old one back in.

Is this £173 off toyota for the clutch itself or to fit it?? My release bearing has started to squeak after just 23k miles, on my 3 and a half year old TS. Toyota want 385 just to remove the gearbox. Very annoyed as the squeak irritates the pants off me. And cant justify paying that much on such a small part. :(
