I have had to have a bottom end rebuild on my 2004 T-Sport due to a lack of oil pressure :(

The garage that I took it to said that they have done these before on the celica and it won't be a problem so I took it in.

He has since been on the phone to me to tell me that the engine repair is done but the batery went flat while it was in and when he has jumped it he thinks he has spiked the ecu!

Consequently when he tries to start the car now it is mis fireing all over the place and won't start. Toyota has quoted £600 for a replacement ECU. :o

Has anybody got any ideas what it could be or what we can do to get it fixed.

Do not accept the car back or hand over any payment untill the garage has fixed the problem. If it is the ECU, then it's their fault and they need to replace it. They should be insured for any problems/damage they have caused to customers vehicles.

Sounds like the garage is woefully inexperieced IMHO.

I've told the bloke that I know thats its unfortunate that this has happened to him but it has happened to HIM

He seems a decent bloke though so I'm just trying to help him out by seeing if I can find any info before he gets ripped of by the stealers.
