Peeling Laquer

hi all just noticed on the passanger side back quarter panel looks like the laquers peeling where some1s bodged the paint, just wondered can i 1200 or 800 wet and dry it then buff cos the paint under it looks good, it looks more like over sprayed laquer.

Thing is its metalic silver and ive done plenty of paint work on normal paint just not metalic, any help would be great il try get pics on tommoro

Hi there,

if the lacquer is peeling, wet and dry sanding is not going to improve things. You should ideally prepare and lacquer over the affected areas and then use fade out to blend the lacquer with the existing paint work. If you want a detailed description just let me know. I used to run my own body shop in Ireland so have done all forms of repairs.
