Oil Cooler

Hi all, I recently had the oil cooler coat the engine bay liberally with it's contents on my gen 6 ST. Quote for new cooler was £230 + vat but garage has bypassed the bust one & advice was not to bother replacing it as long as I'm not hammering the engine. Ideally I'd like to pick up a used one somewhere but in the meantime is this setup going to be ok?

Other question is; are the coolers standard across the Celica range for this generation as this info would help when trying to source another. My present one looks to be 10 row with jubilee type pipe connections.

Hi

I just bought a 1.8ST and have a bad oil leak from the area around the oil cooler. Fortunately, looks to be a hose. Have you changed the oil cooler or is the engine coping without the cooler?

Have you got a manual?

All the Best

Pete

Car is running fine with the cooler bypassed Pete.

If you're chasing a manual you'll find a link on the general Celica forum to download one.
