Ive got a 2003 hilux with the d4d engine and it strugels to pull out at junctions etc.

also when you put it in 4x4 h4 mode the pickup just dies, even when you give it some beans

once the truck is roling it goes as it should!

any ideas?

im thinking clutch but dont want to put one in if its something else on its way out.

What do you mean center diff - i do know what the diff is though!!!

Book says use 4x4 for every 10m per mounth. and obviously when it gets abit slippery. i try'd it in 4wd to see what happens and it still dies not try'd it in 4low yet

this morning i had to back out of my drive which is on a very slight hill and it kept dieing, so had to keep stoping and going again - made me look a right :censor: in front of the neigbours.

it seems to be worse when its started from cold but the problem is always there - it seems to have come on over the last few days!

What I was getting at was if you had it in 4wd when trying to turn, on some models that dont have a centre diff this can cause the transmission to wind up and lock as the wheels are all trying to turn at the same speed.
