Hi, I have bought a used rav 4 , 51 plate and it has sat nav but, when I try and set the route it just goes back to the beginning of the process. I have bought another disc but this is the same. my question is, does this mean that the dvd rom box is at fault or could it be something else. the radio and cd player work fine, its just when i try and set anything on the sat nav......just out of couriosity, if it is the box under the seat, are they expensive to replace....many thanks, hope someone can help. mike. :)

Hi oseleamio,

Like bitman says, you can get them cheap on eBay. What is quite rare - and expensive - is the loom to connect the satnav unit to the readio head unit. So if you decide not to use it/fix it, you could make a bit of money selling the loom and buy a bunch of maps with the money you make.

BTW - you sure you have a TNS300 system? They came out after the TNS 200 and I am wondering if a 51 plated car would have the TNS300? Key difference between them IIRC is that the TNS 200 is a CD-based Sat Nav system and the TNS 300 is DVD-based. So putting a DVD into a TNS 200 would not work.

Just a thought which may be worth checking?
