Aygo Rear Roof Spoiler

I do have a question for you - more need some help and advice where to locate a piece for my car

I have been looking into getting a Roof Spoiler for my Aygo

However the Roof Spoiler which is available from TTE - is tiny

You probably know the one i mean, it looks a little on the 'pathetic' side - and i need something which is really going to stand out.

Recently as you 'Aygo Owners' probably know, the 'Aygo Crazy Concept Car' was made, and shown at the Motor Show and also test driven and many

a Review written!

On the 'Aygo Crazy' - the Rear Roof Spoiler - as you can see from the pictures underneath - is ALOT bigger!

This is the Spoiler i want. I did call Toyota and did some research into finding out about this specific spoiler, and the only information i got, was that

it had been taken off an american sports touring car / or something like that

I have been looking into getting one 'custom made' but can't find a company out there who will make it

I have also looked into getting a 'Universal Spoiler' for the back, but when making phone calls, people seem to be a bit 'unsure' wether or not this will

fit etc...

The main vibe i'm getting is that because the Aygo is 'relatively new' - there are not alot of parts available for it at the moment

PLEASE can you help as best you can - and let me know what you think or where i can get a spoiler similar to the one below

on the 'Aygo Crazy Concept Car'

Hey mate!

Nope - no joy as of yet!

Been reading some different stuff about spoilers for the Aygo, and the C1 and the 107

Apparantly they all have different sizes on the roof etc -

So -

The only way it looks like im going to be able to do it is

[b Get one Custom made exactly to how i want it

or Buy a tiny roof spoiler from TTE Toyota - for about 500 quid - which hardly stands out at all!

Not impressed really!

I thought it would be easier than this but not having much luck!

You got any ideas???

I would say custom make one. Find one from another car that looks like it will fit and custom make the brackets. Possibly utilising the window brackets to stick the spoiler to.

You got a sound system in your car?

And why have you got a shopping list on the side of it?

Did you see the Aygoclub sticker on my car?

I think thats probably gonna be the best idea

Trying to find somewhere locally that does custom parts for cars is gonna be tricky though

Ive tried so many car places to try and fit something - but all have said no

You know of any places locally that might supply or fit something like that??

No i havent seen it -

Got a Pioneer system inside the back

And the shopping list? Well that makes up most of the parts that are actually inside the car at the moment!!

( Matts / seats / sound system / tyres / etc )

Got a few more bits of work to do though!!

If we meet I can help you make a spoiler for your car as my mate has a garage so we can possibly chop and change things there. He also has a spraybooth there so we can paint aswell. Look for spoilers that will be easily changed to fit the Aygo and we can do it I'm sure. Try looking on the citybug webpages as they have good info there.

yeah i'll have to keep my eyes open for something which looks as though it may fit

although have had a bit of luck this evening -

some guy mailed me with some pix of a universal spoiler for the back

which can fit straight onto the back of the window - rather than the top of the car -

Looks a pretty straight forward fit -

( the pix are on a fiat or something ) - he said they dont make many for hatchbacks -

but he's sure it will fit etc...

think the price is alrite - coming from Poland or somewhere

Part of me is trying to work out how it attaches to the window in the first place??!!

One thing i was gonna ask you -

If you have a look at the back of the Aygo -

Will this one get in the way of the break light a little bit -

or will it be ok - when you lift the glass up at the back?? wont interfere with the boot going up and down will it??

I think to be honest - after looking absolutely everywhere im gona get this one -

Just a case of getting the colour right and then fitting which i dont think will take too long

I think this is a better bet than the 480 quid for the TTE one from Toyota anyway!!

Mate, please don't do it. That spoiler looks terrible. You'll make your Aygo look like a wannabe extra on Fast and Furious. The current trend is actually to remove large spoilers, not fit them. I've actually fitted the Toyota Motorsport wing precisely because it is quite discreet, and it looks fantastic.

Yeah but the cost of that one is £nearly 500 and it looks pretty pathetic??

TTE doesn't exist any more. All ex-TTE products are now called Toyota Motorsport items.

As for not seeing my car before, where have you been? It's only featured in every single issue of Banzai. In the current issue there is a five-page feature on it, not to mention the opportunity to win it by the end of the show season!

Anyway - problem is sorted

Spoke to a Custom Garage down in Devon + they are going to make me an exact replica of the spoiler on the back of the

'Aygo Crazy Concept Car' - which was shown at the Motor Show in London.

Have included some pix of the Spoiler which ther going to design

Bit of a result is, even after making it, spray and fit - it works out cheaper than the one from Toyota Motorsport so all good!

Oh yeah - where have you lot got your 'AygoClub Stickers' from - was driving today and saw another Aygo with some club

stickers on the back windows - + noticed a few people had 'em on here as well?!!

Might have to go along one week to the Enfield one -

although going to shows just inspires me to spend a hell of alot more money!!! =]

Yeh the good cars only come out when its good weather though.

I have been to some good C2club.co.uk meets and they have been very fun. There are a lot more Essex area owners of the C2.
