New Rav4

Getting my company Rav4 replaced in December with the new model. What does everyone think of the new one which doesn't have the wheel on the back door?

I'm in two minds about it.

what model you referring to?

there is the SR180 with no spare because it has run-flats

and there are the others that have no spare because they use a can of gunk to seal and reinflate.

Nice choice of company car, BTW

Not sure which one I'll get but I know it's been ordered. Also need to wait until new graphics are put on it.

Intriguing :g:

There are lots of negative stories on the run-flats (fitted on the Top model only), a lot of which is based on the very high cost of repairing, so as yours is a company car, not a massive worry to yourself, I guess.

Personally, I like a spare wheel, but if someone gave me a RAV4 as a company car to drive I would still be very happy without a spare as well

Anyone know if the new model's back door opens wider than my 56 plate XT3? It's probably the only thing I don't like about it if I'm honest.

yes - models without a spare open all the way

You could have got another strap to fix that problem on your current one as well, but too late now ;)

Hi Wiiman and welcome to TOC. Lets just say you wont be dissapointed with yer new Rav. If the

spare tyre is an issue, do like I did, buy an aftermarket alloy and tyre and tether it in the boot

Hi,

I had the option of with or without rear spare (XT5) and to be honest, the only thing that made me wait to buy till when I did was the fact that I didn't like the look of the car with a wheel on the back door. I'd even contemplated going for the T180 but am glad I didn't.

Personal preference only !

I purchased the new XTR in june and I like the look of it better than the wheel stuck on the door.

I paid a one off payment of £200 that covers my wheels and tyres for 3 years so if they need replacing it's not going to cost me a fortune.
