The beast is at Crail on Sunday 31/8/08 - all welcome to have a go!

Its running with the 3SGTE turbo set around 270-280 bhp (unproven) and a launch time of 2 seconds (proven).

We've just replaced the KAD front discs and await the jury on the reason for the front disc (floating disc) failure.

Its now sporting 225/40 x 18 tyres and lightweight alloys with a straight thru exhaust and end tailbox straight thru - no cat. GT4 intercooler.

This Sunday will be a test before I try out a larger turbo to improve the performance between 70 - 110mph. I now have a spare 3SGTE engine so we will stretch the current lump as far as about 350bhp. As winter approaches, a rebuild of the rear suspension and altering the exhaust to create space for the rear sway bar will take place. This is to help control the beast as it lifts off its front wheels on launch.

I now also have a 2nd set of lightweight DARE alloys which I will fit with larger tyres to try out top speed. With the heavier 18" alloys I reckoned the beast had a potential for 150mph +. However for safety, I will hold back til the rear suspension is modified with the imports from USA. It currently runs happily at 110 with the smaller diameter tyres at around 6000rpm. I have no doubt thats its capable of much more....but not til we track down the rear nearside suspension behavioural issue!

and you know I'll be the first to tell you guys that a 1994 3 door has broken the record etc etc etc

In the meantime, the landrover is to get a 200tdi to enable it to start on the same day and to be able to pull itself up a hill. Something I can't do myself! Maybe the max speed will improve from 45mph???

Aye - and bring on the Yanks! Nae bother ma man! 150? On a beach? Ah can do that oan the M%$ !!

Looks like your 1/4 Mile time blows away your opposition each time! and you get to around 90MPH in 1/4 mile? is that right?
