Rav4 Front To Rear Roof Rails

Hi,

I am thinking of putting the roof rails on my new Rav4 XT-R.

I rang my local garage for a price which they quoted £240.

This seems a tad steep so I looked on eBay where I found some on auction from a 2003 model.

Now I think these might not fit because I'm sure the Rav4 over the last 5 years has got longer.

Has anyone ever fitted old roof rails onto a new model?

Thanks

Dave

Morning Dave

Whilst I haven't actually tried fitting roof rails as you ask, I have just been out and measured the roof rails on my 4.3, and then on my better half's 2005 4.2 (both 5 door) and they are different lengths- the ones on my 4.3 are about 3 inches longer.

They are different rails. The ones you need are indeed £240

Kingo's price is £222.19 DELIVERED to your door, not by me but a very nice man from TNT :D:

PM me to order a set, genuine Toyota accessories at discounted prices

Kingo

Thanks for the advice and info guys.

I want to be able to transport bicycles but I'm also toying with the idea of getting a rear mounted bike rack instead (not the towbar one).

This way I don't have to spend a few hundred quid even before I buy the bike racks.

Cheers

Dave

Not gonna swear to this, BUT I think I have seen bike racks that actually mount on the spare wheel mountngs - as opposed to mounting on the spare wheel itself :g:

not got a link or anything, but sure I have seen that in a photo

EDIT: this kind of thing ....

Goto "Britpart spare-wheel-mounted rack" near bottom

Thanks Hoovie. I should have mentioned that as my Rav is an XT-R I don't have a spare wheel on the back.

Thanks for the link.
