Go for the X and buy yourself a Tom-Tom, the tns-200 sat nav in the avensis is very basic and expensive to get upgrades for.

I agree, the extras you get with the X MORE than make up for the below average sat nav

Go for the X every time, far more goodies than the S (more than just climate). Forget Satnav and buy yourself a decent Ordnance Survey Road Atlas. Much cheaper.

Mind you, one 'goodie' I could do without are the automatic wipers. Why the hell do they bother with these? I think I can detect myself when it's raining. They drive me nuts, give me variable intermittent please, everytime.

I have a T3s with the TNS300ETA Sat/Nav system which in its original form I would have to admit is not great to say the least, i have upgraded 2007 disc fitted so system works just fine but will never match modern aftermarket kits. But how many more new roads will we have in Ireland? Is climate control better than standard A/Con? If you have both cars side by side at the same price, i would probably go for T3x. But the the T3s is still a fine car with fewer toys to go wrong, do you really need rain activated wipers, its easier to just move stalk. Horses for courses, it's becoming a buyers market just check how long some cars are staying on CARZONE before they sell or just run out of time. You could maybe even go for a higher spec Avensis if your not in a hurry.

prices are falling dramatically.
