I have a question because I'm not sure...

Do AC, mudflaps and front foglights count as modification and need to be declared if they were fitted by Toyota as extras (brand new car)?

what kinda price were Toyota asking for, to get mudflaps on ur car, mine sooo needs them!

Its the easiest thing to fit them yourself...all you need is the flaps and about 10 mins...I bought a pair of front and rear for £29 on eBay...see the minor mods thread......the holes are there for the fronts and the rears need drilled (dead easy as thin plastic bumper)

I was expecting this thread to be loads of people saying "oh my insurance is only £2.50!"

Why so expensive for some of you??

My CTS is £370 a year!

I think young folk and 'dodgy' areas (their words not mine) still get shafted, I'm an old !Removed! at nearly 45 and even though I live in Glasgow its under 150 quid for me and the mrs.....when I add my eldest son in a few yrs, it will no-doubt rocket!

I think it's rip-off...

In new vehicle order form it says..

Air-conditioning £425

Fog lights £243

Mudflaps £100

on top of that I paid VAT for all those bits

 great car!

wouldn't mind paying your local prices for Bang & Olufsen Hifi or Lego toys though!

Just got a call from the dealer, the delivery date is now early december!! Buuhuu :crybaby:

I think B&O is pricy enough, and it's been ages since I played with Lego ;) !

Ok I have seen some good quotes, however one of the things that influence your quote is the dreaded EXCESS, I could have reduced my insurance from £215 to £150, however that meant that the excess would change to £500 volunery + £250 complusory. This is ok if you have that sort of money to hand.

People should quote the following:

NCD

Protected NCD or NOT

Excess (voluntery and complusory) - check your policy there good at this trick!

Comprehensive or Third Party

Legal Cover

Free Hire Car

Good point. I pay £190 but everything is thrown in, so is that better value than someone paying £100 for the bare minimum?

In summary I think you can conclude that in general all you can conclude is that the Aygo is pretty cheap to insure.

Andy
