To be honest, it was that quiet during the week we were there, but the schools had just gone back so maybe a week or so before, not so.

School Holidays! :crybaby: Another cross I'll have to bare! :(

I'm coming accross in October to do a bit of sight seeing and visit an old friend of mine who owns an axle and trailer manufacturing company in Naas.

Looking forward to it even more now.

Cheers Robert.

If you are able to get over to the West Side, Achill is a fabulous place to visit in all seasons and all weather, with Maryport as the 'gateway' good to spend some time at.

Kerry is a great place to go to. Sadly the last two times I have been to ireland was to Kerry but for funerals, Howeevr I have also driven around the ring of Kerry a few times in happier occasions and around the Dingle peninsula and there are always good things to see. I am a great fan of the West of Ireland (except Connemara :fear: )

Typing that lot above has made me 'homesick' for Ireland and I'm not even Irish

What's the problem with Connemara? I quite like it. Have I naively been bumbling around somewhere dangerous?

Think I prefer the dingle to the more touristy ring. County Clare is good too in a quieter type of way. Basically, you can't go wrong in the west of Ireland can you?

I drove through Connemara one time and expected 3 eyed 1 legged creatures to come out the marshes at me - it just had that feel to it to me - desolation.

County Clare is nice as well - the Burren is a spooky place, isn't it - just like a moonscape with those rock formations.

Like you say - you can't really go wrong in the West - and the rest is not bad either (not sure about Country Rosscommon though - that is a place you would usually only be in when driving through from one place to another)

Jonbr - been meaning to ask you this for a while ... Did you use to have an Honda HR-V?

Hi Hoovie, nope not me. Only ever driven one Honda once (not the HR-V) and didn't like it so didn't consider any thing other than Toyota when I replaced my last car :-)

your user name looked very similar to one on the hondasuv.com forum (and that guy was from Berkshire as well, IIRC) :)

Lo all... :D

guess there are more enthusiastic Rolla drivers out there than Ravvers... as out poll aint looking tooo good

Had one busy Rolla driver overtake me this morning on the way to work... must have been running late or perhaps his Rolla did'nt like sticking to the 30 speed limit :nono: which was in place on the road we were on... I dont know he must have had a reason to have to overtake.... :dontgetit:

Regards
