But I think these new tax bands put us 3rd from the top from 13 categories. Raising the tax for a year from £210 to £260.

i've heard ours will be a bit more? that was a few moons back - they where on about it on 5th gear but was cooking so didnt hear it all, heard thr RX-8 tho!!

The costs aren't to horrendous for the performance you get, when i brought this up a few months ago the Mazda 3 MPS was showing as a £750 a year tax car for a new one in 2010, now thats truely outrageous :(

Hmmm, I'm glad I'm not driving my Corolla anymore. Got a car with nearly twice the size engine, twice the interior space, twice the speed of the Corolla and I'm only paying £185 for the year! How does that work!?!

These are the new bands. I am £5 worse off in my 1.6 vvti (168g'km) which is not bad compared to some of the higher tax brackets. Plus if you are buying a new car, there is going to be a showroom tax of up to £950!!
