Yaris Stutter

Hi everyone, what a great community.

My name's Dave and I have a 1999 Yaris SR 1.3. I was moved to look under the bonnet at the weekend for the first time in 5 years mainly by a weird stutter that has occurred over the last 6 months.

When applying foot to accelerator after an idle at lights or whatever the engine is slow to respond and seems like it will stall. I have read many posts here highlighting similar problems and have done the following after advice from here.

Checked air filter

Cleaned the MAF

Cleaned all connections around air pipe

Put in new spark plugs

Is there anything else I can do that anyone can think of?

Replace the driver??............ ;) :P Do some maintenance

It gets serviced every year and has only done 60k miles and I do the basic stuff!

Have you checked the connections on the coil packs for tightness and corrosion?

Because you said "I was moved to look under the bonnet at the weekend for the first time in 5 years".......................dont you lift the bonnet to service it??

and "mainly by a weird stutter that has occurred over the last 6 months".......................why did you not do something as soon as the stutter occured?? :D

You should not ignore any warning signs :)
