Cd Player Error 1 - 2005 D-4d T-spirit 2.0

When inserting a disc in the single disc unit on the front dash the cd player loads the disc and then stops with error 1, I have tried 3 different discs and still the same. I did a search and the best idea is dirty lens.... Anyone else had this problem?

Hy, I have the same problem. (Error 1). It means- Laser dead, not dirty.

I bought a CD lens cleaner and inserted it, but no joy looks like you could be right!! anyone know what to do next? Is it likely to be knackered? If it needs replacing does anyone know of third part systems with a toyota face plate.... Ideally with bluetooth or usb input?

i'll have a look around the web aswell if I come up with anything i'll post Back

I've only had the car for 3 days! I am impressed with it so far, just a bit gutted I cant play my own music!
