Strange Wheel Noise Problem

Hi everyone

I'm totaly new. I really like this forum and I'm looking for help. I have the 05 avensis. Recently I started to hear strange "waving" noise from the wheels especially when I turn left or right and when I drive straight at speeds over 50m its becoming louder. Can you tell me what can it be? Is it wheel bearing? Maybe some front axle problem? Do you know how to check it? And is it very complicated to fix it myself?

Thanks for any help

And cheers to all users

Answer to my own question

I went to the mechanic and he told me that this is not CV joint (clicking is its noise) and not wheel bearings but gearbox dif bearing.

Well. I'm not happy at all

I hope this will help someone

You can find out if your C.V-Joints are faulty quite easily. If you have local car park with room to run car in a circle, put car on full left lock & drive in circle if you have a knocking noise your drivers CV joint is faulty & just repeat on other lock to test other side. If no noises you can start looking for other faults.

Hi,

I have a similar noise, did you manage to find out what the problem was? I have changed 1 wheel bearing but it may be coming from the other side. Any help would be fantastic.

Cheers.
