I tried Rainx on the car windscreen and I STRONGLY would not advise it. Yes the water does run off the windscreen but you still need to use the wipers. That is when the problem starts. The Wiper Blades chatter all over the windscreen making an horrendous noise. I telephoned Rainx customer services who seem to be aware of this problem on the windscreen. They advised the use of white spirit vinegar or cif watered down or the use of their own Rainx glass cleaner which was suppose to remove the Rainx treatment. Don't bother it is a load of c**p. If you must use Rainx, I would recommend you only put it on the side windows.

I use "MER" RAINAWAY. I have the windscreen additive and the rain away to put directly on the screen. These products work fine. I have used them on several cars. I purchased the product from QVC but I expect Halfords stock it.

Sorry to hear of your experience stompe. Thanks for the advise.

  • 4 weeks later...

I remember using that a few years ago on an A Class I had. That too caused the wipers to judder madly over the screen.

Rain-X were very good and sent a bottle of their cream glass cleaner which removed it and solved the problem :)
