Steering Bounce

New to celica and new to this web page so sorry for any blunders.

My M reg. gt has started to play up at low speed and in particular on full or near full lock, it is as if some one is pulling the steering wheel against my turning and the result is like a bouncing movement. My first thought is the power steering pump but can any one confirm this from there own experience.

tighten up the belt and see if it improves , my 95 gt did this after putting new 17 inch wheels on it.

it should jump even standing still turning the wheels lock to lock , tighten the belt untill it stops , but dont over do it. a new belt maybe needed also for more friction.
