I've just reached 1000 miles in my new black Corolla T-Sport. Just started to take it up into the lift zone , goes great. All my previous cars seemed very unhappy being taken near the red line so I would very rearly do it but the CTS just seems to cry out to be reved.

The question is, is the CTS OK to be reved to max often, I don't want to do it any damage. How do other people drive their CTS?

Also should the CTS have under bonnet sound deadning?

believe it or not it is healthy to give it a good revving every now and then cos thats how the engines set up and tuned

it also keeps the vvti healthy as it keeps all the oilways clear and free of cack

just dont do it every day in every gear or youll probably throw a rod!!!

just take it for a country drive every week and itll be happy as pie

The CTS is designed to be driven in the 6200-8200 rev range because that's when the power kicks in and is the reason why it's a quick car..

you won't do your car any damage driving at the redline, it's what it was made for!

as jaxx says though, it's probably not good to do it all day long... but then if u only plan on keeping your car a couple of years who cares?

Rev it all the time. You have at least 3 years of coverage, so why bother. Then you can always buy additional 2 yrs, so another reason not to bother at all.

Just remember to use good oil and change it as often as your budget permits. I change mine every 7,5k km, but my CTS screams near the redline almost all the time (for year and a half now, and no problems so far).

Just buy lowernig springs, please. :)

The needle on the revmeter CTS won't go into the redzone. The limiter will kick in before any of the redzone is reached. Other cars it IS possible to go into the redzone but not with the CTS. So that tells you that this engine is built for highreving and it enjoys being in the 6200-8200 zone.

Hello,

I normally find an excuse to hit 8300 rpm every trip. 15500 miles and

no problems :D

Cheers

Paul.
