I'd put the CTS 3rd in a race for starters

CTR <06

Golf GTI Mk5 Std - Loads of low down torque

CTS

CTR 07> Not that quick

I would say the same although there woudnt be much between them in a straight line race tbh

I wouldnt think there would be to much in it tbh. as omasis said in a straight line not much. The golfs i sat in one mk5 gti, it had tons of torque but didnt feel very fast but thats because it was very very smooth! You could not feel how fast you were going.

the golf is more heavier than the corolla aswell but does have more bhp and torque.

Between the type R and corolla it is hard, the type R is only a little bit lighter, has around 8bhp more at stock however does have more bhp per ton and has more torque im guessing as it is a bigger engine. It would be close in my opinion.
