Dome Fuse Blows Out Instantly

I have a 1998 Avensis 1.8 GLS, my mum had a crash and on impact the Battery fell out of place, since then, the central locking, the interior lights, the head light warning buzzer and the rev metre do not work.

When I checked the fuses the 7.5A DOME fuse had blown out, so I took it out and put a new one in but it blows out instantly, I dont know what is causing it. I had the car checked at a garage and they say the problem is in one of the 2 front doors and they need 3hours of abour to fix the problem. They arent specialists so I refused to have them check it.

I believe the problem is something else because before the car crash this problem never occurred. The DOME fuse blows out as soon as I put it in, I've tried even a 15A fuse and it blows that too. Could it be that when the Battery fell out of place and that the wires were pulled and there is some sort of problem? I do not believe it has anything to do with the doors as the car crash was minimal frontal impact only slight bumper damage.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what it may be?

Any replies are welcome.

The Battery fell out of place?! Wasnt the Battery strap fitted or is the Battery the wrong size?

Im guessing when the battery moved it either damaged a wire (causing a short) or the battery may have shorted out under the bonnet and damaged/melted something.

Needs sorting properly - putting in a higher ampage fuse is dangerous.

Mart.

the Battery is the specified strength but its slightly smaller than the Battery straps so it wasnt secured properly and it fell out of place. I think its more to do with pulling or stretching of the wires. Everything else works fine apart from the Dome fuse which keeps blowing out. I'm going to try the Romford Toyota dealership and see what they say.

Thanks
