As long as you have front seats, seatbelts, airbags if fitted and your normal controls there won't be a problem!! Why would it be illegal???

completely legal if it can pass an MOT, that means secure seats, seatbelts etc. you dont need to have airbags however i think you might get a warning from VOSA if you have the airbag light on

Oh! :o Good point about the items flying around - I'd suggest asking your insurance company then. It may be legal, but on the flipside it maybe a loophole for an insurance company not to pay out in the event of a mishap!!

if you are striping it right down, including removing air bags for instance, the air bag light will be on which will fail the mot.... a simple solution is to remove the bulb, this is how we did it on a mates track car and it passed the mot.

I think for the amount of weight the steering wheel add's I would keep the airbag. Not worth the risk.

just to let you know the air bag and warning light is not part of the mot .but if the warning light is on it would be noted that the light was on but it is not part of test .as for removing seats and seat belts when the vehicle is presented for test if there is no back seat or belts then it would be advised and tested as a vehicle with 1 passenger seat and belt and would be recorded as only being able to carry one passenger with regard to being tested with one passenger seat belt.
