Hello Everyone

I was wondering if someone knows how much it would roughly cost to replace a passenger wing mirror on a Toyota Aygo. Someone has kindly ripped my mirror clean off during the night and left it dangling down the side of the car shearing the plastic at the black panel in the window. I'm going to take it to the dealer to have it fixed. Any ideas on replacement cost would be welcome before I call them.

I would imagine its about £700, thats because anything and everything I have asked from my toyota dealer has been around that mark!!

I would get a quote from parts-king (member on here) and fit it yourself, cant be that hard and am sure some helpful knowledgable member will offer advice or a how to! ;)

Welcome the club btw!

Whats the chance of getting the plastic bit you need from a write-off, also try the parts for the C1 or 107 to see if they are the same.

Thanks for writing. I might try that. I think it might be the same as the C1 and 107 as it mentioned those models t on the black plastic on the inside of the mirror. I'm not sure how easy it would be to fit myself though as I'm not good with car maintenance unless its really easy indeed!!!

Thank you for getting back to me SJ. Wish my introduction was under happier circumstances though!! Never mind I guess it could have been a lot worse eh!! I mailed Parts Kings to find out how much it would be - thanks you for the advice. Would I just post to ask if anyone knew how to fit them?

Get one from a breaker; I got a SET of mirrors without the

color coded covers through a Dutch site for €60 (roughly £40)...

You can easily replace the mirror yourself and if the color coded

bit is still OK you can just swap it over to the "new" mirror.

And if you keep the glass you could probably sell that for

around £7 (as I paid €10 for a single mirror glass once)

Thanks Jan. I don't have the back or glass from the mirror but it was just plain black anyway, I'm afraid that's gone so I'll need to get the whole unit and replace it. I have seen them on e-bay so I know they are out there but I'm not sure on the fitting.

Do you have a list of instructions for changing it and I'll see if I can rope my Dad in to help me. I read that there's just a couple of clips to remove to get the door panel off from one of the other Toyota models but wasn't sure if it was the same for the Aygo and where the said clips would be, what they look like etc etc. I'm scared I do the wrong thing and ending up inadvertently breaking something trying to fix the mirror!!

I'd have to take a close look, but from the top of my head the interior panel at the mirror mount clicks off,

exposing a couple of bolts/srews, undo those and the mirror assembly should come off in one piece.
