Our New Rav

Thought I would post a few pic's of our new Rav....... :D

Spent a few months looking for the right one but in the end managed to get this 2001 low mile - low owner GX....

Car was very tidy and well maintained but had the usual corrosion to the alloys and some swirling/marks to the paintwork due to car washes and Sponges (will someone please ban the sale of the car sponge!! :( ) so I gave the car a bit of a Detail..

Before....

After (using Mezerna medium cut and Porta cable)...

Next was the wheels which had a good clean and a few coats of paint..

After.....

Side steps were oxidised and covered in tar spots so were given a good clean with Autosol..

After....

Then gave the whole car a coat of AG SRP followed by a coat of AG Ultra Deep Shine..

A few random Reflection shots...

Absolutely stunning - well done that man! It now looks immaculate and the (obvious) effort you have put in has really paid off. I am seriously impressed.

You've lost me with that one?.... :unsure:

Don't worry yourself Garry, Bothy doesn't recognise any other rav than a 3 door petrol, so he pokes fun at anything with 5 doors, your car looks superb, do you do foreigners, i am only in Altrincham? :lol::lol: welcome to the madhouse :thumbsup:

Thanks for the comments :thumbsup:

Must admit though there is no better colour than black for showing off a shine.

TBH I'm very much an Amatuer and am still learning to use the PC in the right way, however I've had a few cars done in the past by a pro-detailer I know, If you want your car doing let me know as he only charges around £120 + fuel costs for a exterior detail and if you can get 2 cars or more it's cheaper still...

Hi there,

Impressive results!

What sort of paint do you use on your wheels? And what's a Porta Cable?

I just used alloy wheel spray paint from Halfrauds....

A Porta Cable (PC) is the buffing/polishing machine I used, ie..

Take no notice of old wish bone brain you would be far better bringing your clobber up here and practicing on a red RAV.

That really is astonishing and a credit to you.

I have several Porter Cable tools most of which I have carted back from the USA in my suite case. I didn't know they did a (I call that a body mop!). They usually rotate at about 900RPM right?

EDIT It is a different thing. It is a RO polisher;

It seems the MB guys are impressed but only available in 110 volts;
