Hi nice site guys,

as you will notice I'm a newbie and need a little advice.

I have a r reg Toyota Avensis 2.0 gls and had a little bump two weeks ago, someone tailgating and hit me in the backside, it didn't seem too much until i tried to open the boot!!

it opens and close's now with a good whack but i have the "door open indicator" constantly on, on the dash display. I have been away for the last two weeks and have just tried to start my car but it seems both my key fob and Battery have reset themselves, i can open the door using the key but when i start the car this sets off the alarm.

does anyone have any ideas how i can get round these issues quickly and easily. i think the Battery may have died and reset everything is this possible?

cheers Lee

I recently had to reprogram my keys. Quick and easy it even tells you in the manual.

Keys out of the barrel.

Open drivers door.

Insert key and turn to 'ON' (I didn't start the engine)

wait 10 secs

then press one of the buttons on the key twice.

You should hear the doors try to lock/unlock.

Done, if not try the battery's

However if your door open light is on all the time from the boot it might not lock. Why not try by-passing the switch on the boot itself, you should see it. At least then the computer gizmo's will think its shut allowing normal operation of the remotes. Then try the above again.
